Selah and more

I can't decide which is more exciting; seeing Selah at the Christmas Celebration at my church in Denton on Sunday night or finding out a single mom of 5 that I know received gifts for her family after being nominated by her sister for Christmas Wish on KLTY.

I can't speak much about my friend, but it was such good news to hear that she had received this. She really deserves it. A group called Mission Reality has been doing the 12 Days of Christmas. You can refer to their website for more information. On the 4th of their mission, they granted four KLTY Christmas Wishes. If you look at their website, she was in Day 4, part 2 of the videos. Her portion is close to the end. I really love what they are doing.

Sunday was the Christmas Celebration at First Baptist Church of Denton, where I have been attending the last few months. It started off with Orchestral music, followed by the church chorus, then the children's chorus (which the boys I watch sang in).

Tyler (left) is really into it, while Tucker (right) is not really enjoying himself

After all that Selah came out and sang. They sang a few songs with the chorus and also brought the Pastor and worship leader on stage to sing.

Amy, Keith (worship leader), Todd, and Dr. Jeff (Pastor) singing a song in Kituba. Todd lived in Congo (Zaire) Africa for 8 years with his family growing up, so he likes to incorporate these songs into their music.

They are just wonderful in concert and I had a great time. After the show, Goofy and I waited around for the group to come out so we could meet them, get autographs and take pictures. I was excited that I got to meet Todd Smith. I have been reading his wife's blog called Bring the Rain over the last 6 months or so. You can read more about their story about their daughter Audrey Caroline who is now in Heaven. Since I have been reading her blog, I have felt like I know them. It's always kinda funny to meet someone that you know all about and they don't have a clue who you are. Everyone in the group was very nice and it was fun talking to them for a few minutes.

Take 1:

This first picture was not so good. Check out my face. Ironically, I was in the middle of saying "Make sure you take a good picture" *click* The next one is much better.

Todd Smith, Me, Amy Perry and Allan Hall

I will try and post a few videos later. They take way too long.

P.S. We just received some bad news about my grandma (mom's mom). Please keep her and our family in your prayers.

It is always nice meeting people that you see or read about all the time. =] I am sorry to hear about your grandma and hope whatever she is dealing with gets better!

Merry Christmas
