Proposals

One evening several months ago I was with a friend at Target. We went to get one special thing. I think it was a bar of chocolate to have s'mores. The young lady in front of us was with a middle aged woman and they were excited and giddy buying a wedding magazine. She began talking about how she had just gotten proposed to and was showing off her ring to the cashier lady. She mentioned that the man of her dreams had proposed only an hour earlier.

My question is: Why was she at Target buying a magazine instead of spending time with her new finance?

It just doesn't make sense.
