Nelson Cruuuuuz!!!

Friday night, Teddi and I ventured off to our last Rangers' game of the season against the New York Yankees. We ended up running late to the game due to traffic and serious trouble parking. We didn't get into the ballpark until nearly an hour into the game after looking for parking for more than half an hour. On our way searching for a parking spot I mentioned that maybe the game would run long since we got there late. In that case, I wouldn't feel so sad for missing part of the game. Little did we know, 5 hours later we would still be there awaiting the end of the game thanks to Nelson Cruz tying the game in the bottom of the 8th inning. And guess what! We got on TV!!! There we are, the little blobs. Too bad we didn't get the ball.

Two chigago dogs, 2 Diet Cokes, 11 pitchers, 5 hours and 12 minues and a walk-off homerun by Nelson Cruz in the bottom of the 13th inning later, the Rangers beat the Yankees. In fact, it was the longest game in Rangers' history and we tied an MLB record for the most pitchers used by one team in a game...and set a team record for most pitchers used in a game. (I think the Yankees used 9 pitchers...so you can imagine all the pitching changes we witnessed)

It was an amazing game and we had the best time even though it was past midnight and we were dead tired!

Next on the list...buy a Nelson Cruz shirt :)
